Strategically positioned as Australia’s nearest port to Asia and the nation’s ‘northern gateway’ for Australasian trade.

The Port of Darwin has become a strategic regional transport hub. The railway’s northern terminus at East Arm Wharf makes it the perfect link between Australia’s land-based transport system and the shipping lanes that service Singapore, Asia and the rest of the world.

Darwin is regarded as Australia’s second offshore industry support hub and the Port of Darwin is the import and distribution destination for most cargoes used in the oil and gas industry in the Arafura Sea, Timor Sea and waters off the coast of Western Australia.

CTB operates in collaboration with the Darwin Port Corporation and in partnership with one of the world’s most powerful tug corporations, Svitzer.
